NIMITTA SHASTRA (Basic to Advance)

In traditional Jyotisha (Vedic astrology), Nimitta is one of the supporting disciplines used along with horoscope reading and question-based charts (Prashna). Classical authors such as Varahamihira and others are said to have discussed rules for interpreting such signs in texts on omens and samhita (astrological encyclopedias). How it is used Practitioners observe what happens at the exact moment of a question, decision, or important action: sounds, animal movements, objects falling, the direction of movement, or the first words heard. These observations are then interpreted through traditional rules to suggest whether an action is favorable, obstacles are likely, or caution is needed.
